Victron Smart Shunt 500A/50mV – Smart Battery Monitor – Bluetooth Battery Monitor

Original price was: R2799,00.Current price is: R2499,00.

One of my favorite pieces of equipment, the Victron inverter is very expensive, but this little monitor gives you a lot of that very Victron-esque functionality.

A great companion to your existing battery bank.

Note on stock

As loadshedding persists in our country and the local ports face intermittent unrest, obtaining all the Victron products from their extended catalog becomes increasingly challenging.

Although most of the Victron items are available for same or next-week delivery, sometimes we may need to place an order from The Netherlands.

Victron Global has a highly developed logistics system that ensures delivery to international airports and docks within 2-4 weeks. However, it is important to note that Victron does not provide us with information about the current onshore stock levels. Therefore, we can only estimate the lead time for the particular item on your order.

The SmartShunt is an all-in-one battery monitor, only without a display. Your phone acts as a display. It connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect App on your phone (or tablet) and you can conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters, like a state of charge, time to go, historical information, and much more.

Alternatively, it can be connected to and read by a GX device. Connection to the SmartShunt is made via a VE. Direct cable.

The SmartShunt is a good alternative for a BMV battery monitor, especially for systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter are wanted.

It is equipped with Bluetooth and a VE. Direct port and a connection that can be used for: monitoring a second battery, midpoint monitoring, or a temperature sensor.

Batteries are used in a wide variety of applications, mostly to store energy for later use. But how much energy is stored in the battery? No one can tell by just looking at it. The service life of batteries depends on many factors. Battery life may be shortened by under-charging, over-charging, excessively deep discharges, excessive charge or discharge currents, and by high ambient temperature. Monitoring the battery with a battery monitor will give important feedback to the user so that remedial measures can be taken when necessary. Doing this will extend battery life and the battery monitor will quickly pay for itself.
