The Loadshed Buddy ( All-in-One Router Backup Solution )

Description

This device is designed to keep your Router and Fiber Ont, powered up during loadshedding.

Prerequisites

12 Volt Router
12 Volt Fiber Ont

This unit can only output 12 Volts, so it might not work on a 9V router.

If you need a 9v output then you can use a buck converter to reduce it from 12v to the desired voltage.

1 x Sherlo Tronics Dual PowerStore
1 x Securi-prod Lithium (Lifepo4) 12.8V 7AH Battery
2 x DC Plugs with wire ( This is what you connect to your Router & Ont )
1 x Assembly, we assemble the unit and connect the wiring for you

How long will this power your Internet?

Assuming your Fiber Ont & Router pulls 1.1 Amps per hour ( conservative estimate )
Then you will get 7Ah/1.1A = ±6 Hours run time.

This solution should ( depending on which Router you have ) run your Fiber during continuous Stage 4 & Stage 6 loadshedding.

We would however recommend getting one for your Fiber router and one for your Ont, to be on the safer side in case Loadshedding gets worse.

Note this is using a lead-acid battery, ours come with a lithium battery.
